Purpose:
The Christian Heritage Foundation, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to encouraging and supporting the churches of Johnson County, so that a concentrated effort can be made to tell the story of the Saving Grace of Jesus Christ.
History:
 The Christian Heritage Foundation was established in 1982 by Cleburne businessman Walter G. Mize, with the absolute support of his wife, Mary Ann, and their children, Adam Lee Mize and Mary Catherine Hicks.
Walter had been a born-again Christian since 1948, but he wanted to know what more he could do to serve God. Since the age of 10, when he was saved in a little country church north of Iredell in Bosque County, Texas, Walter’s faith and trust in Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord had grown and matured. Walter knew that God had blessed him and his family, and he felt a strong conviction to do something in return. He had tithed to his home church and donated to other Christian organizations, but he wanted to do more. His question was, “What would God have me do?”
Basic Concepts:
- The Christian Heritage Foundation operates primarily in Johnson County, Texas.
- The Foundation helps Johnson County churches help people in the areas of benevolence, evangelism, and outreach.
- The Foundation supports Johnson County churches but is never in competition with them. The help and assistance provided to people by the Foundation always comes from a church.
- The Foundation neither solicits nor accepts funds from any outside source. All funding for the Christian Heritage Foundation has come from Walter G. Mize, members of his family, and Cindy Rigby.
- Most importantly, the Foundation seeks to do everything possible to assist churches in reaching people for JESUS CHRIST as set out in John 3:16.
Christian Heritage Foundation Staff:
 Charles Garrett joined The Christian Heritage Foundation June 1, 2004. Under his leadership and through his hard work, the CHRISTIAN HERITAGE FOUNDATION is achieving more and more every day to “help churches help people.”
LeAnne Self joined the Christian Heritage Foundation Staff as an assistant in August of 2008.
