The Christian Heritage Foundations core objectives:
- To present to all the people of Johnson County as directly as possible – John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
- To urge the County as a whole to be more CHRIST-centered.
- To encourage all people of Johnson County to attend the church of their choice.
- To help the business community find Jesus’ plan for success.
- See Addendum - “Israel”.
Accomplishments: The Christian Heritage Foundations has ongoing activities. These include benevolence, in which the Foundation works with Johnson County churches to help the needy on a 50/50 matching funds basis. The program’s aim is to help churches give those who are down and out a hand up, not a hand out, and to use this opportunity to share CHRIST. Another ongoing Foundation program is a tape and DVD ministry, involving a library of Christian counseling, teaching, and entertainment media for use by Johnson County churches. In addition, the Foundation offers its meeting room facility for church group meetings and retreats. God has blessed the Christian Heritage Foundations in meaningful ways, allowing it to accomplish the following:
- Christian Heritage Foundation representatives have surveyed 25,585 homes since its inception in 1982.
- Approximately 125,366 personal visits have been made to individuals, “shut-ins,” and people in nursing homes and hospitals by Foundation representatives.
- 176 Johnson County churches have been assisted by the Foundation.
- 13 denominations have used the benevolence services of the Foundation.
- 12 non-denominational churches have used the benevolence services of the Foundation.
- 26,621 families have been assisted through the benevolence program.

- Johnson County Business Bible Project: Bibles were hand delivered to over 4,000 businesses.
Operation Reach - Johnson County for Christ: Currently, the Foundation’s main project is called “Operation Reach - Johnson County for Christ.” Goals of Operation Reach include helping Johnson County churches organize various evangelistic efforts, placing Bibles in all homes in Cleburne and Joshua, and placing Bibles in all businesses in Johnson County. To date, the Foundation has partnered with 52 different churches for various Operation Reach activities. Substantial monies have been set aside to further this project. It is hoped that it will continue to grow, to include more churches, and to reach more people.
Operation Reach activities vary from the traditional, such as Vacation Bible School, Fall Festivals, Concerts, Bible Study Clubs, Day Camps, Food Ministries, Bus and Van Transportation, Fellowships, and 5th Quarter gatherings after football games, to more unusual evangelistic efforts, including Divorce Recovery Outreach, Christian Aerobics, Financial Peace Seminars, Christian Women’s Job Corps, Skit Guys Comedy Week, Splash Station Nights, Skateboard Ministry, Drama Teams, Block Parties, and Bringing Jesus Back 2 School Rally.
New additions to Operation Reach activities include the dramatic presentation “Final Exit,” which had an attendance of 2,700, “Living Hell” which featured over 300 participants and performers, and 3,746 in attendance, 615 professions of faith, 52 recommitments, “Heaven’s Gates, Hell’s Flames” where 1500 attended , 330 professions of faith, and a Resurrection Pageant, which had an attendance of over 12,000. New youth events include Crossing Lines – Concert Style, Team Impact, Church Night at the Rodeo, and True Love Waits. Teaching People to Reach is a new Operation Reach study. Operation Reach also has instituted a Bibles for Inmates program and a program providing Bibles (in Spanish) for Cinco de Mayo. Will Graham Celebration, Come Worship Texas in 2008.
The Christian Heritage Foundation has partnered with Johnson County churches in the areas of evangelism, outreach, and benevolence – areas that we hope are pleasing to God – and together we have achieved great results . . . but we will do more.
The Future: The Foundation is seeking innovative and creative ideas to help impact all of Johnson County with the gospel of JESUS CHRIST! This is an opportunity to “think outside the box” – to suggest ways the Foundation could help support qualifying ministry events that might otherwise exceed the financial resources of Johnson County churches. Have you ever had a great evangelistic idea on how to reach out to your community, but lacked the resources to try it? The Foundation can help.
At The Christian Heritage Foundation, we operate under the principles of “responsibility-based ministry.” Simply put, we want the Foundation’s resources to have the maximum effect on reaching people for CHRIST. We strive to be good stewards of our financial resources and agree to be held personally accountable. Achieving this requires a common agreement on intent, realistic measurements, and ongoing positive results from the Foundation’s partnerships with local churches.
The Foundation wants to help more churches. If you want to discuss this further, a Foundation representative can meet with you and explain how a local church ministry could participate and benefit from working together with the Christian Heritage Foundation. In the end, there is one common goal: Johnson County churches and the business community, working together with The Christian Heritage Foundation, introduce more people to our LORD AND SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST, so they may experience HIS touch and receive HIS saving grace.
